a sanctury in the city
I needed some quiet time close to clifton in between visiting family in bristol .
Had a wonderful 24 hours hours of relaxation and ME time .. exploring the shops , eating out and being cosy in my little attic bedroom .
A lovely little hotel in a peaceful part of this lovely city.
The accommodation offered everything and more than I expected. Being on the top floor in June the room was very warm, but there was a fan in the cupboard to make it much more comfortable. Just perfect for a short stopover.
Good Budget Hotel
Nice old privately-run hotel.
Very busy when I checked in and the staff I met were all very pleasant. Yes the rooms are small (and they pack them in) it's not decorated like a Hilton, but if you just need a conveniently situated hotel for a night this is a good place to start. I booked at £65 ppn which was £57 after cashback which, considering the hotel's location within walking distance of Clifton, was a bargain. I know where I'll be staying if I need a room in N Bristol again.
Friendly convenient hotel but needs a bit of maintenance.
We saw a couple of rooms and ended up in a good one but a couple of the others were not so great - one had a leak.
The staff could not have been more helpful and breakfast was lovely. Nice tea and coffee tray in the room with biscuits and fruit a nice touch.
We were a bit unnerved that the room doors were a bit bashed about.
Overnight 'flying visit'
Single room - en suite.
Clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Didn't have breakfast but the food from the dinner menu was good and excellent value.
This is not an expensive hotel and I did not expect the Ritz and it was certainly not the Ritz.
However, the charming staff could not have been more efficient and helpful. Unlike many such hotels there was some life to it, with reception doubling up as a coffee shop and an attractive bar downstairs which doubled as a dining room and served a very good breakfast made from good ingredients. The room was simple, but everything worked, including the shower. One could not ask for more for the price.
Love to stay here whenever in Bristol.
Great food, bar, wifi, staff, and rooms.
Suggest a double room if you are over 6ft 6 like me, the singles are a little cramped.
Putting shabby at the heart of shabby chich
Parking is an extra £6.50.
Room cost £77 for a single bed with just a blanket (not even duvet) in a room that looked like it was last painted in the 70s above the bar that was playing music til midnight and on a corridor with floorboards that creaked more than the cutty sark. It took 20mins to serve me a bowl of cereal in the morning to top off the experience. I won't be back.
Single rooms is poky. Bathroom a pod - smaller than that in a caravan
Called an 'executive' single room...whatever that means.
The room was 12 feet x 6 feet including bathroom at a push. Avoid if you suffer from claustrophobia.
