Excellent location....lovely staff
Fantastic room with plenty of hot drinks available, lovely bathroom products and a huge comfy bed.
The staff were very pleasant and the location was perfect for discovering York. Parking is a bonus.
Great place for a weekend away.
A lovely hotel a few minutes walking away from the train station and all the city centre attractions.
Helpful staff, good food and comfortable rooms could not ask for more.
Hotel staff very pleasant and nothing was to much trouble for them from the receptionist to the the waiters in the restaurant.
Good size room, very local to walk to the shambles and Christmas market.
Perfect location and nice hotel
Hotel is in a perfect location for shopping or socialising in York.
The bar and outside areas are lovely and the staff are polite and attentive. The rooms are okay however, they are not very sound proof. We could every conversation from the people in the next room (even though they weren't noisy) and from the room upstairs - we could even hear what they were watching on the TV.
Last minute stay
Booked last minute at excellent price.
Very convenient location. Lovely meal in restaurant. Friendly staff & very comfortable bed.
Lovely boutique hotel with great gym
I travel with work throughout the UK and its always a nice feeling when you find a hotel that you know you will come back too.
Very friendly staff, nice bedroom, free WiFi and great food from their room service menu. The added bonus for me was a well equipped gym. Not a bedroom with a bike and treadmill that most hotels advertise as their fitness suite. Their swimming pool is very small is the only criticism. Its in a great location for the train station ( 12 mins walk ) and city center.
Good location - both city centre and beautiful hotel grounds
There is very little parking in York, so the central location is excellent for walking round the sights.
The gardens around the hotel are beautiful, so you don't feel like you are surrounded by city. However, for the deluxe room, this is reflected in the price, so you get the same facilities in the room, albeit it more nicely decorated, as a chain hotel. Although I didn't use the spa facilities, you do have to book a spot to use the pool, as it wouldn't fit more than a couple of people in it, and it certainly wouldn't be worth swimming in
Stayed in room 47 spacious, lovely comfortable bed.
Room did feel a little stuffy though. Liked the fact that there was bath sheets in the room but disappointed that there wasn't a bin in the bathroom and the shower was only luke warm. Over all we had a very pleasant stay.lol
Our weekend in York
The hotel was lovely.
Staff couldn't do enough for you. Not the cheapest around. But you get what you pay for.
Would we go there again.
not really a luxury hotel experience
despite very friendly staff and nice setting we were disappointment, the pool was broken, the beds worn out, the bath water warm, the rooms noisy with thin walls, bar staff quite rude.
For the same money we would have had a better sleep at Premier Inn.
