Having recently purchased Soughton Hall Hotel, the new owners have made vast improvements to both the impressive décor and the service. Set amidst the beautiful Welsh countryside but within easy reach of the A55 & M56, this historic hotel in Northop offers a warm welcome along with a "Downton Abbey" style experience. With luxurious rooms, elegant interiors and magnificent gardens, it is one of the most select venues in the area.
Built in 1714, Soughton Hall has been home to a bishop, a Lord Chief Justice and has been the home to a succession of heirs in the Wynne-Bankes family line. Impressively re-modelled by the esteemed architect of the Houses of Parliament and Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), Sir Charles Barry, in early 1800s, it is now a privately owned boutique hotel with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Exquisitely furnished and decorated, this luxurious country house features the highest standards of interior design. From beautiful handmade fabrics to an impressive collection of antiques, it truly embodies the refined elegance of traditional country living. All 14 bedrooms at the hotel are individually named and elegantly decorated. Each room has its own bathroom, television, radio, hair dryer, biscuits, and tea and coffee making facilities. With antique furnishings,and beautiful fabrics, each unique room has the highest standard of interior design.
Set in one of the first floor state rooms, the restaurant offers a relaxed dining experience within a grand setting. Combining delicious food with great service, we strike a refreshing balance between the formal setting and friendly service. Soughton Hall is the perfect venue for weddings.
