Good straightforward B&B accommodation near centre of Penrith.
A good clean straightworward B&B convenient for the centre of Penrith.
Pleasant and helpful proprietor. Basic toiletries were provided in the en-suite bathroom, but the complementary toiletries were minimal compared to other B&Bs we stay at. No face flannels are provided. The present proprietor has owned the business for just over a year, and improvements are still on going, and the following comments should take this into account. We were allocated room 2, which is a double bedded room with a connecting twin bedded room, and an en-suite bathrom with a shower over the bath. The occupants of the double bedded room have to access the ensuite bathroom by going through the twin room, which may not be ideal. The double bedded room has recently been furnished with a kingsize double bed, which is nice, but this mean that one side of the bed does not have a bedside table or light, and the layout of the room needs further thought and adjustment.. The walls of the room are very bare, and a couple of pictures would make it feel better. The ensuite has a little black mould appearing in the grouting etc, but I guess that this sort of thing will be dealt with in due course. Breakfast was based around the full English breakfast, and the quality and service good, with some fresh fruit also offered. It is a pitry that there is no fish option offered to give a bit of variety. The accomodation is reasonably priced, but perhaps a little expensive for the accommodation provided.
