The Clock Tower Hotel
Even for half the price I would say it was not worth it.
I was at reed hall the night before and that was half the price £60 for one night kettle was so ancient I couldn't even imagine using it. Bed sheets looks as old as the kettle not warm at all. Heating was turned on for like 2 hours and then turned off about 11pm freezing all night couldn't sleep comfortably. Dusty carpets. ensuite had a caravan shower type installed it warms up as you turn it on which meant it was either cold or scalding when used. Terrible experience altogether the only thing that made up for the experience was the breakfast. It was more than I could ask for so unexpected.
The Clock Tower Hotel
Paid £80 for B&B.
Room 2 at the foot of the stairs so you hear all the comings and goings. Along with the flushings and creaks of the rooms above, not a very good nights sleep. Room stank of damp due to the leaking bathroom roof. Not very user friendly bathroom. Towels, bed linen and mattress long overdue a renewal. Breakfast very mediocre. Waitress disinterested. Don't expect milk with your tea, or the toast that you order. Looks much better than it really is on LateRooms. I'd steer clear at any price, and at £80 you will definitely do better in Exeter.
