A warm welcome, very nice accommodation in a quiet area.
Our first stay at Flossies
Flossies is in a delightful location about 4 miles outside of Alton and very convenient for visiting the Jane Austen house a Chawton.
I would recommend staying here as the owners have good ideas about improving the place and were very accommodating.
The new owners are very keen and we received a warm welcome. Our room was very dated but clean tidy and comfortable and there was a microwave fridge and kettle with cutlery bowls and plates. A new small flat screen tv with DVD was installed which was nice except the on screen tv guide was so small we had to get out of bed to read it. There were electrical problems on our first night and we had no hot water or heat but this was rectified the following day. We had an excellent breakfast but since we were have a holiday break the breakfast times 7.15-8.15 were too early and we nearly missed breakfast on our second morning. I would stay again as I am sure when they've finished decorating and upgrading the building it will be lovely
Nearest pub was about three miles, too far for a pleasant evening walk.
We are the new owners of Flossie's B and B and take pride in our business, we are in the process of updating and decorating our rooms, in fact room 2 has just been finished.
There was no electrical fault as we had found that the heating system had been turned off, we can only suspect by a previous guest, this was quickly rectified. If we had been contacted about the heating we could of rectified this as well.
We have breakfast times, which we appreciate may too early for some, but we have to at present try to keep to these as we have time management as we also run the post office and the village shop and another post office off site, but will look into extra timings.
It was a pleasure to have this lovely couple here and look forward to seeing them again.
