BBCalamatta is a second floor flat in a typically charming Rome building.
I stayed for four nights with my parter. The rooms are basic, but they are clean and professionally run with en suite bathroom, plenty of storage space, TV, full length mirror, windows that open over a quiet courtyard. The location is superb - just yards from Rome's stunning parliament building, and the river is just round the corner. Breakfast is available all morning, which we found very convenient, and is from a smart coffee shop on the next street. A tasty fresh Italian coffee and pastry - which is the traditional Italian way to start the day - though a bigger breakfast is available for a small additional fee.
The owner Valerio gave us a map and extensive recommendations for all the major attractions, what to do and where to eat. This really enhanced our stay as it was our first time in Rome, and we felt a huge benefit from his local knowledge.
For the location and the price, I don't think you'd get any better. It's perfect for a short - or longer - break. We can't wait to return to this enchanting city, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at BBCalamatta again.
