After looking at some reviews on our journey down, I was regretting making this booking.
We were pleasently surprised......Reception staff were friendly and efficient and the reception area was bright and welcoming. Our room was nice enough, not enormous but big enough for a 2 night stay. The bathroom was compact and clean although there was a couple of cracked floor tiles (ceramic tiles on a wooden floor issue). About 5:30am on our first night we did have a problem with water coming in through one of the light fittings and onto the bed (torrential rain had fallen all night). I rang down to reception and spoke to someone, who to be honest did not fill me with reassurance that he understood the problem, this doubt was founded 30mins later when we went down to reception as we had not had the promised response. Our initial call had not been passed on but within 10 minutes we had been installed in a temporary room to continue the night. Next day we were found a more suitable room for the remainder of our stay. All staff (but one) were attentive, friendly and professional.....from what we were told, the exception was a new member of staff and I have a feeling his understanding of english was not the best but as there were many international guests this could have been of benefit to them. The building is an old one and could not therefore match up to the decorative standard of a newer build, corridors are narrow and twisting with plenty of doors (fire doors). The shower was good with plenty of hot water. There was a lack of consistancy in the rooms ie the provision of a hairdryer. Also WiFi is chargeable which is unusual. Finally.....the carpets in the bedrooms are a big let down. They are pieced together and fraying........making the rooms look very unkempt.

After having arrived even the front desk clerk advised that this room was for single occupancy.
Insinuating we would find the standard double room basic room too small. He was right. with barely enough room to walk past the bed to get to the en suite shower, Both myself and partner found that with no storage available we had to leave bags in the aisle way. Room was a tripping hazard. if i'd known I would have booked a more expensive room with a well reputable company just for the extra room. Staff however catered to whatever needs they could. A room like that should cost no more than £30 in my opinion - £97 was daylight robbery. And as if it wasn't extortion enough, after laterooms site displayed wifi available we found we had to pay £4 per 24hours!!!So not buy a standard double basic here.
