Why should I book my hotel through LateRooms.com.au?

We work completely independently from any hotel groups; so we work with all types of accommodation providers - from hotels and apartments to B&B's and guest houses. We have over 33,000 properties at your fingertips so you can compare the best rates and availability easily. Bookings are entirely flexible - you can book up to a whole year in advance or up to the minute of your stay. Bookings can be made online 24 hours a day, or if you'd prefer to talk to someone, over the telephone on 1800-995335.

Do I get charged a booking fee?

No, the LateRooms.com.au service is completely free; we'll never charge you a cent.

Why can't I always book online?

Sometimes some of our smaller properties, such as guest houses, cannot offer a lot of online availability due to the risk of overbooking. This means that we can still offer you the great value prices, but you may need to telephone us to make the booking instead.

Is there a difference in booking by telephone?

No. If the hotel you've chosen is available, then online is the quickest method of making a reservation. Any special requests you make online are sent to the hotel but cannot be guaranteed. If you have any additional questions or specific requests you will find our call centre to be most efficient. All the prices you see on are the same online as they are over the phone; you simply pay for the phone call.

How do I know it is safe to book online?

How do I know my details are secure?

Once you have booked through LateRooms.com.au, your details are stored on our secure server, which cannot be accessed by anyone external to our company. These details are protected by the latest SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology, which is independently certified by Global sign. View our Security certificate.

Why do you take my credit card details?

Although LateRooms.com.au will never take payment from you, we do need to take your credit card details to secure your booking with the hotel. The normal procedure is to pay the hotel on arrival/departure using a credit/debit card. Upon booking your card will usually be pre-authorised by the accommodation provider, however payment will only be taken if you fail to arrive at the hotel and you have not cancelled your reservation, or you fail to cancel your booking in accordance with the hotel's cancellation policy. Some of our accommodation providers do offer special pre-pay rates that are often discounted more than usual. These rates will be charged to your card at the time of booking and cannot usually be cancelled or amended. Please ensure you check the properties cancellation policy before you book.

What do you do with my information?

Your personal information and card details will be passed on to the hotel so they can process your reservation, but nowhere else. Any information entered into the online booking page or given over the telephone is securely encrypted and protects your personal information from being tampered with. We will keep your card details and booking information on file indefinitely after you have made a reservation. This is to assist in any customer service issues that may arise and to ensure that we meet any legal requirements relating to tax, etc.

Do I pay LateRooms.com.au or the hotel?

LateRooms.com.au will never debit your card. Most of the hotels featured on the site require you to pay in full either on arrival or departure; your card details are simply taken to secure your booking. Each hotel's individual cancellation policy will inform you whether they require a deposit or full pre-payment.

Why do the prices change on different days?

LateRooms.com.au is all about getting our customers a great room at a great rate. Hotels will vary their prices depending on how busy they are, which can mean hotels will offer different rates for different dates.
These prices can be reduced or increased at anytime, even right up to the moment of your stay, but the price you have booked is always the price you will pay.

Why are some prices in black and others in orange?

An orange rate indicates that the price showing has been discounted below the 'normal rate'. The normal rate is the price the room would be sold at over the counter, for example if you were to walk in to the hotel and book. A rate in black indicates that there has been no discount made to the 'normal rate'. This is usually due to limited availability at the hotel.

If I have very specific needs isn't it easier to contact the hotel directly?

No. The LateRooms.com.au team try and ensure all your requirements are met regardless of how complicated they may appear. To discuss your requirements with a member of our team please ring our call centre who'll be more than happy to assist you with your requests.

I've not received my email confirmation, what should I do?

Don't worry, this doesn't mean that there's a problem with your booking. If you received a booking reference number (xxxxxxxR) either on screen or over the phone, then you can re-send your confirmation quickly and easily using our email re-sender service. Alternatively you can call our customer service line on 1-800-995335.

Can I cancel or amend my booking?

Providing you make any cancellations or amendments in accordance with the hotel's policy you will not be charged a penny. The cancellation policy can be found on the hotel details page and on your booking confirmation. Cancellation policies for each hotel can vary so please ensure you check the details when booking. If you want to cancel or amend your booking you can either do it online via your MyLateRooms account or, if you don't have an account, via the MyBooking panel on our homepage. Alternatively you can call our customer service line on 1-800-995335.

Can I book accommodation more than 12 months in advance?

No. The majority of hotels don't allocate rooms that far in advance, so we don't take bookings outside of the twelve month window.

The properties on LateRooms.com.au are denoted by many different types of star rating, what do these mean?

LateRooms.com.au was the first accommodation site to use an official star rating system in the UK. We work with both the AA and visitBritain to show which properties have been awarded an official accreditation. View our UK star rating guide.

What is MyLateRooms and how can it benefit me?

MyLateRooms is your personal area within LateRooms.com.au. You can login and view any booking you have made through us; you can view the amount you have saved each time you have booked with us, cancel bookings and even customise the way you view the LateRooms.com.au website as well as use our fast track booking service. When you make a booking with us we will send you a password to validate your account and you're registered. Register now for a MyLateRooms account.

Do I have to enter my card details every time I book?

Not any more. To benefit from our fast and easy booking system simply sign up to MyLateRooms and once logged in you can add up to 5 debit/credit cards to our fast track service so that each time you book you don't have to fill in all your details. For more details simply login to your MyLateRooms account and click on the MyAccount tab.

I have received a LateRooms.com.au promotional email and would like to unsubscribe, how can I do this?

Every promotional email we send you contains a link at the bottom to unsubscribe you from our mailing list. You can either click on this link to unsubscribe or email remove@laterooms.com. We will never sign you up to deals by emails without your permission. When booking online you can de-select the tick box to opt out. If you book through an agent in our call centre, the agent will always ask whether you would like to receive our deals by email.

I opted out from receiving LateRooms.com.au email offers, but have still received a review email, why?

We want to offer all guests the opportunity to pass on their hotel experience to other guests. To ensure all the reviews on our site are genuine we will send you a unique link in an email for you to review the hotel you recently stayed in.

How do I know that all your hotel reviews are genuine?

Only guests who have booked through LateRooms.com.au and stayed at the hotel will be invited to submit a review. After your departure date LateRooms.com.au will send you an email with a personalised link, unique to your booking. If for any reason you / the guest doesn't stay at the hotel or they cancel, their right to leave a review will be invalidated.

How do I leave a review?

To submit a review you must have booked through LateRooms.com.au and stayed at the hotel. If you are a LateRooms.com.au customer there are two ways you can submit a review:

1. You can submit a review through the automated review email. Upon booking you will be asked for a valid email address. We will use this email address to invite you to submit a review 48 hours after your departure date.

2. You can submit a review through MyLateRooms. To access MyLateRooms you will need to have registered your details with us. If you are already a member simply login and click on the hotel reviews tab. If you are not a member of MyLateRooms yet and would like to be register here. By joining MyLateRooms you will not be subscribing to our Deals by Email service.
