Perfectly reasonable

Personally I wouldn't have paid full price.

Location was okay so long as you don't mind a walk (which I didn't as I'd gone to Jersey to do outdoor activities!). Breakfast was good and staff friendly.

room 220

this room is above the kitchen/ staff area, so when staff were taking their breaks, it became nosier as the weather was good so my window was open.

having said that the staff ,service and food choices were excellent

Great customer service

The hotel was perfect for our weekend away.

The staff provided excellent customer service and were very nice to my 4 year old. Food was very nice, good choice and service.

Short stay at The Monterey

Checking in and out was efficient.

Floor boards squeaked every time we moved in Rm 202 which if I had been staying for longer than a couple of days would have drove me mad. Good strong shower and lots of storage. Good choice at breakfast - cereal, fruit, yoghurt, continental & cooked and extra to chose from such as kippers, porridge & smoked haddock. All very nice. Leisure facilities - great spa pool & steam room along with a nice little plunge pool. Exercise equipment (I know you don't go for this but 20 mins before breakfast just to keep going) was ok. Bit dated and clunky. Reasonable walk into town and was quite disappointed when we returned on Wednesday evening a little after 11pm, to hear the barmaid audibly tut as we entered for a drink.
