Old fashioned style but practical, basic accommodation
The hotel is situated about 20 minutes walk from the centre of St Helier on what must be the busiest road in the town.
We had a room at the front which with windows open had lots of traffic noise from Bagot Road below. With windows shut noise was a little muted but room got stuffy. Actually, after 4 nights of erratic sleep you DO get used to it. Room itself was clean with no smell, adequate with towels changed every morning and bed made. No problems at all with bathroom and hot water supply. Didn't use pool but bar was Ok and public rooms lacked atmosphere but were clean and tidy. For others I noticed lots of stairs, no lifts and not disabled friendly.
Breakfast was hot and staff efficient, friendly and quick and flexible with ordering what you wanted. Reasonable value for money, but after seeing some of the beautiful, quieter areas of Jersey I would not stay in this hotel again. St Helier is a industrial dock with only parts of the centre worth visiting....

The rooms and decor are dated. Everything was very clean. Staff are the best asset - all really friendly and helpful. Food was poor. Paid £15 for evening meal and was disappointed.
