Amadeus Guest House
The guest house is in a nice quiet street in a great location just off Great Western Road and it's cafes, restaurants and delis.
It's a 3 minute walk to Kelvinbridge subway station for fast access to the city centre or to Byres Road which is only 1 stop away or a 10-15 minute walk.
I had a small single, basically an attic room (room 7) with shared shower room. The room had a velux window which requires you to stand on the bed to open it or to close the blind. Room was bright, if a little cramped. The mattress was a bit firm for my back. The shower room was modern and clean. No power shower but it did the job. The all you can eat buffet breakfast is good: cereals, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, croissants, pastries, bread rolls, cheese, tea, fresh coffee. Toast is brought to your table on request. The guest house is very clean and all the staff I encountered were courteous. The free wifi worked well. Overall, at £115 for 3 nights it was good value considering the location. I'd certainly return.
I arrived feeling quite ill as I had a migraine.
I couldn't have chosen a better hotel. I felt really cared for simply by the way everything was so thoughtfully arranged - from the chocolate on the bed to the farewell biscuit offering when I left. I would definitely come here again.
