Comfortable Business Hotel
Fab location, comfortable rooms and a relaxed bar area. Perfect business hotel for a good price. Wish I had started staying here years ago. Recommended the hotel to my Managing Director and now the Crowne Plaza is her new Brussels favourite too!

Superb hotel spoilt by niggles...
There's nothing that can be added to other reviews as regards the hotel itself, its location or decor. There are all as would be expected.
What wasn't expected, though, was all the little niggles that took the gloss off things:
An email sent the day before arrival just to confirm the booking went unanswered. Perhaps the hotel does not confirm such details by email, but at least a reply saying so would have been appreciated.
Parking - this is Brussels so it's chronic. Considering the age and location of the hotel it's not unreasonable there is no dedicated parking and there is a public, underground car park very close by. However, I think the hotel could do more to keep what space there is at the front clear to at least allow unloading.
Watch out for the underground car park. It's currently being renovated and the lifts were not working when we arrived. Struggling up a very narrow temporary staircase made of scaffolding with cases was not the best way to begin the stay. To get to the back entrance of the hotel (just across a narrow street) and finding it locked didn't help. So, no option but to walk around the hotel. Reception staff were unconcerned as the door "...would be open later that evening".
The air con in the room wasn't working correctly Even with the thermostat set at it's lowest and the fan turned off it was still leaking warm air. Getting back to the room at 11:30pm was like walking into a sauna.
The continental breakfast was good, but one coffee machine for the entire dining room did lead to some delays. The hot buffet was, as expected, nothing special, but the bacon wouldn't have been served in the cheapest greasy spoon at the side of the road - truly the worst I have ever seen and swimming in a bath of pure grease.
Other comments include TV channels not working, the safe not working, no bath anti-slip mat, not even a 'Do not disturb' hanger for the door.
I appreciate the room was offered at a cut price rate designed to fill the hotel in a quiet period - its a shame it felt just like that... None of the issues were reported to reception. They were either too minor to bother about, or too late at night to do anything about - but taken all together is the reason for a negative review.
