Nice Hotel
The bedroom was clean and well furnished. The bathroom was also clean and well kitted out. There is no lift, and the breakfast wasn’t great (just a few croissants and pieces of bread), but overall it was a nice place to stay. Convenient location right next to the main station in Bordeaux.

Friendly hotel
I appreciated the very friendly staff and and the nice atmosphere of the hotel - but the room was too hot having any A/C, and the area is noisy in the night: opening the window means you do not sleep well. But good value and enjoyable experience overall

excellent value for money
for £100 for two people for two nights, the hotel california was definitely a lot better than i was expecting. both of the receptionists i spoke to were very helpful and friendly, spoke english too. they didn't have a record of my booking, but were very nice and gave us a better room. the room itself was quite big, very clean with complimentary tea and coffee and the shower was really good. a lot better than most 2* hotels for the price.
although wifi was advertised we couldn't get any signal in our room, that's the only complaint i can think of.
location is really good, directly opposite the train station and surrounded by cafes. its a bit of a walk to the main city centre, but there's a tram stop right in front of the hotel. i'd stay here again

Best customer service of any hotel I have ever stayed at
The two women on the reception desk the two nights we were there we the most polite, courteous and friendly hotel receptionists ever. Thank you. The room was very good for the price we paid for it on laterooms. The only downside was that the wifi did not work on the third floor, so we had to sit in the dining room to use it. Otherwise, great place in very good location right next to the train station. Would recommend.

Just passing through
We stayed (because of the name) for one night on our way through Bordeaux.
The location is handy for public transport and the city. It was easy to reach from the airport; about an hour by bus/tram.
Very friendly staff with good English, which was nice because my French isn't.
The room was clean and quiet with oddly bovine decor.
Their breakfast is good.
