I was impressed by the hotel.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. we stayed on the ground floor, room was slightly small but was fine for me and my boyfriend as all we wanted was a nice comfy clean bed and shower as we planned to spend most of our time exploring Amsterdam. Beware the bathroom doors are pretty much see through. Didnt bother me and the boyf, we actually found it quite funny but if you are slightly more conservative this isn't the hotel for you. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so cant comment on the food. We did hear a lot of noise in the mornings from other guests as we were so close to reception but we managed to get back to sleep fine and it didn't bother us to much, I read a review on a lady falling down the stairs and i actually woke up to hearing her fall the first morning we were there. I'm glad we stayed on the ground floor the stairs were incredibly steep but we found most places in Amsterdam are like that. If you struggle to go up the stairs or are concerned about how steep they are i suggest you contact the hotel and ask if you can have a ground floor room, they are no lifts so bare it in mind with heavy luggage etc.
The hotel is about 5 minute walk from where the bus drops you off from the airport ( Bus 197 - 5euros to Leidseplein about 35min journey ). All in all a THUMBS UP from me, i would defo stay again but only with a ground floor room ;o)
Small but perfectly formed!
This hotel was great for our 5 day stay in Amsterdam, it is a converted Dutch town house beside a canal and ideally located on the edge of the Liedseplein (theatre district) and approx.
20 mins walk from Dam Square. The room was on the smallish side but the quality of the fixtures and fittings and the bathroom were to a very high standard, it was comfortable, quiet and clean. I believe that the hotel only has 15 rooms in total so it has a personal feel to it but we would definitely use it again.
