Hotel in need of a upgrade
The hotel rooms are very dated, old and in desparate need of a makeover. Carpets were old, bedding poor quality, paint peeling on window sills. The bathroom was disgusting with the ceiling covered in mould and when we notified the hotel they claimed they did not know - it was hard to miss.! They staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel rooms were poor and definately not value for money.

Great room
Excellent meet and greet room large warm and cosy with kingsize bed
Bathroom spacious and warm but dusty on windows and paintwork with rough sealant work
Enjoyed food in bar again although had to pay extra for half and half sauce on skewers
Let down by breakfast being cancelled no reason given by staff just told me in passing when I was in bar. Pub noisy below room but not a major issue

hot chicken!
Room adequate although bit dated. Wasnt very warm and no heating at all working in the bathroom which was chilly. Staff all very helpful, located in not the greatest location in Midlesborough but perfectly fine for overnight business stay. Bar area busy ( Hungry Horse Pub ) and managed to get a table for one but guess this time of year it would always be busy. Had chicken skewers with piri piri sauce-hot and good value-made a madras seem mild so be careful although enjoyed them!

Good Value for Money
A functional and clean room which offered a good nights sleep. The breakfast was well put together.
