Handy Little Hotel with Good Food
Stayed here for one night while over for a 50th Birthday Party.
Hotel & Food really good. Only down side is that it could do with a bit more parking, although the staff went out of their way to find us somewhere to park. It was a particularly busy Saturday.
Weekend stop over
Good value for money, excellent food.
Convenient location for collecting student from his Manchester digs.
We stayed one night it was a very clean hotel the lady who was dealing with us was very nice and polite nothing was too much bother for her she was doing pretty much every role the day we arrived as we sat in the beautiful gardens with a drink from the bar which our room looked onto breakfast was buffet style but still very nice I would definitely stay here again for the price we payed
A good all round hotel-staff very friendly
A warm and friendly welcome.
Very nice staff. Have stayed before as we used to live in the area so knew it would be fine
Excellent stay with great service
We stayed here just for a night, and the room was very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was lovely and the staff were great. We would definitely stay again.
Clean and the ladies were lovely!
Room was clean and bathroom was nice.
Would stay again for the price it was spot on, the hallwayy were a little shabby however who really cares about the hallway and that seemed to be part of the buildings character.
Lovely hotel but some disappointments
I really like this hotel, it's the 2nd time I've stayed this year & my friends 3rd.
Lovely building, grounds, food & staff but staying in the extension is putting me off going again due to the noise. Doors all bang noisily which you can hear, even when they're on the other floor, walls are thin so I heard my neighbours alarm in the morning and could even hear him blowing his nose. Only a couple of channels on the TVs worked and my friends radiator was on constantly meaning her room was way too hot (mine was stone cold all the time in the room next door), she went and asked for a fan but was told they didn't have one and they didn't offer to try and sort the radiator.
Stay for a friend's wedding
On arrival the receptionist advised that check in time was usually from 2pm onwards & I told her that the confirmation email had said from 12pm.
She was very condescending & basically told me I was wrong. Even when I showed her the email she didn't show any apologise for the error & continued to patronise me - very annoying. Another group came down to tell her that the hot tap wasn't working and she said "it should do" - again basically saying they were wrong. She also started dealing with them before she'd finished checking us in, which is poor customer service in my opinion. However, the room itself was perfectly adequate for what we had paid although it was a little dated and was in a modern building attached to the back of the picturesque a Victorian house. The gardens were lovely and the breakfast was just what we needed after a night out. Overall, a nice hotel but the receptionist could do with a refresher on customer service!
