It's a Travelodge

Very disappointed with the hotel.

It is a Travelodge with a different brand.

My advice - if you want an extremely old and tired room in a hotel with 90's decor, save yourself some money and book into a Travelodge. Or, you can book into the Hallmark Inn, pay a lot more and have the same poor experience.

Room review

Stayed Saturday night which was a very cold evening but no heating was on in the room when we arrived and hoping for a hot drink to keep us warm, we were disappointed with the tea and coffee facilities in the room.

The selection was sparse and one of the spoons was unwashed. We turned the radiator on however and after changing went out for the evening and returning found the room comfortable. A quick inspection of the room prior to arrival would have allowed the heating to be switched on and the facility to be checked leaving us with a different initial impression.

Basic but good value for money

Plenty of room in car park.

Warm welcome at reception. smooth check in procedure. Take advantage of the breakfast check in offer, saving £2.50 - there is not much else on offer in the area for breakfast. Communal areas basic and a bit tired. Lift incredibly slow on door opening. Rooms basic, but clean. Breakfast was really nice, but could do with extending opening hours to 10.30 on weekends. check out at 11am on Sunday is great. For what I paid and the relatively short amount of time I was in the hotel, it was good value for money, for a one night stay.

Short family break

Clean, efficient, nice buffet breakfast.

We had family room which easily coped with 2 adults and 2 children. Only minor quibble - no (working) extractor fan in bathroom. Very convenient location for train station, city centre and access to other major roads. Very nice Italian restaurant attached - friendly staff, good food at reasonable value.

Bed rather lumpy

Didn't really want the room for much more than a place to sleep, the bed was more tired than I was and could benefit from an upgrade.

I would only use this hotel again if I knew the beds had been upgraded - I value a good nights sleep. The staff were lovely and friendly, so could not fault them at all.

No Frills But Good Value

On arrival check in was swift but staff lacked any warmth.

Overall hotel and room were tired looking but very clean. Basic room with 3 single beds and a great sized wall mounted TV. Tea & coffee making facilities in room along with a nice shower over bath (very cłean). Slept really well only a couple of inconsiderate guests making a noise in the small hours otherwise very peaceful. Buffet breakfast was a good selection of hot food, cerals, juices, yogurts, tea and coffee. Checkout swift and organised. Overall for the price we paid this was great value no frills budget end hotel and we wouldn't hesitate in returning just get the staff to smile once in a while.

Enjoyable 2 night stay

The room was comfortable, and quiet - which I'd asked for.

Nice to have (and use) proper bath - lashings of hot water. Decent choice for full breakfast. Wifi worked well.

Fantastic hotel & breakfast - good value for money

Booked this hotel only a few hours before going down to Derby.

Reception staff well presented and polite. Rooms are are spacious and clean. Breakfast was nice and kitchen staff really friendly. There nothing I could fault with this hotel other then the car park exit, My car is low (standard) to the floor and I scraped the underneath of my car on the way out. But my partner had a Zafira and he was fine so be wary...other then this I couldn't have asked for more...
