Our inspector loved "The lovely views of Derwentwater from Lake view bedrooms."

Few can boast a waterfall in their garden like the Lodore Falls Hotel…

The 4* Lodore Falls Hotel, overlooking Derwentwater, is situated within 40 acres of grounds and boasts a stunning waterfall and river that runs under a pack horse bridge. The hotel itself is an imposing building, built in traditional Lakeland slate. It has had a commanding presence in the Borrowdale Valley for over 200 years and guests return time and time again to enjoy the backdrop of the spectacular Lodore Falls and surrounding mountains.

All of the 69 comfortable Fell and Lake View bedrooms are thoughtfully designed, fitted with modern amenities to a high standard you would expect of this four star hotel. All rooms feature luxurious Sealy beds, hairdryer, flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Family rooms and suites are also available, as well as two room suites and the spectacular Tower Room with stunning panoramic views.

With panoramic fell and lake views you can relax in the lounge , before enjoying dinner in the AA Rosette Lake View Restaurant, which has a reputation for excellent local cuisine.

The perfect base for families visiting the Lakes, the hotels’ facilities include free bike hire, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, outdoor hot tub booking essential, tennis court, gym, a sauna and a Beauty Salon - perfect for holiday pampering.

Dining at the Lodore Falls

The Head Chef is passionate about the abundance of seasonal Lakeland produce and creates lunch and table d’hôte dinner menu’s rich in variety and creativity. Begin your evening by relaxing in the lounge bar while you select from your menu and the extensive wine list, before heading through to the impressive AA Rosette Lake View restaurant.

Save room for dessert – the puddings are legendary! These mouth-watering delights have a regular following - the Pudding Society takes place every second Thursday of the month, where diners can delve into eight hot and cold puddings and desserts created by the talented Pastry Chef. A dining indulgence – eight desserts in addition to the normal table d’hôte menu – paradise for those with a sweet tooth.

The Lake View Lounge Bar offers the perfect location to relax and enjoy morning coffee, lunches and afternoon tea whilst taking in the spectacular views of Derwentwater and the surrounding mountains. Romantic weekend
Booked hotel for our wedding anniversary as it was in such a lovely location. Service was generally friendly and efficient. Room was a little small but comfortable. My wife loved the Xmas decorations and baques! Would stay there again. Easy for us to get out into the countryside and relax.

Luxury in the Lake District
Lovely hotel, with adjacent waterfall. Bird feeders in the garden are a delight with lots of wild life. Breakfast and dinner very good. The spa and outside hot tub were wonderful. The only niggle was the additional charge of £3.50 at breakfast for smoked salmon and scrambled egg. This seemed a bit petty given the quality of the hotel generally and the cost of accommodation.

Lovely hotel
From arrival until leaving, the staff could not have been more helpful. The lounge areas were lovely, leisure facilities exellent and the food was wonderful. Our room was spotless. My only complaint would be with the stair and corridor areas which could do with some decoration.A very enjoyable stay.
