Disappointed in hotel but okay for the deal we paid for
Overall we had a good stay. Booked a dinner bed and breakfast deal and for the price it was very good. Hotel slightly dated and decor is mismatched, wasn't as high a standard as we had imagined. the pool was very small and you couldn't really swim in it, but the 3 spa steam rooms were nice and relaxing. Staff were generally friendly and polite, the only issue encountered was with the manager/head of the restaurant in the evening who we found to be quite abrupt and very difficult to understand. This is definitely a hotel for golfers as the views and the course looked amazing, but in general was not a place I would recommend for a special getaway.

Very relaxing stay - lovely setting and very comfortable rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. The stay didn't start well however, as they didn't seem to have our booking. They were very helpful whist sorting this out and there was a room so there was no issue, but I did think what if..... They did treat us to a complementary bottle of wine for the inconvenience, which they admitted was an oversight on their part, not LR. Food was good, especially cooked breakfast. One small thing- the orange juice was decidedly watery on the first day. Would love to go again however, but would ring ahead to check booking!

Great hotel
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as a treat to celebrate a special anniversary. We were not disappointed with our choice of hotel . We did request a different room to the one we were allocated and although we had to stay there for one night as the hotel was fully booked, the receptionist kindly offered us a much nicer room for the remaining two nights, so were happy with that. Breakfast was served in the Library and there was a good choice of fruit juice, cereal, etc as well as delicious cooked food. The restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. We dined in the clubhouse on 2 occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the food there too. There is a very calm & relaxed feel to this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
