One for the summer
The room was very large with a very large bed, which was good. However, it only had one small electric fire so it was cold. The en suite was worse - tiled floor and again one small electric fire on a time switch. Very cold after a shower. The rump steak for dinner was tough and undercooked, but the cooked breakfast was great.
As a blue badge holder, it was annoying to see that nobody polices the illegitimate use of the reserved parking bays, particularly as one of the culprits was the manager!
The staff were all very helpful.

Overnight stay
Very helpful and pleasant staff. The room was a little tired but everything was clean and we were delighted to find somewhere that would take our dog without an extra charge.Overall it was good value for money and served well for an overnight stay on our way home.

A convenient stop
The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful from the moment of our arrival. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The service in the bar/restaurant was prompt and the food prepared to a good standard. Taking into account its proximity to the A1(M) this hotel offers a lot for those travelling the length of the country (I do not forget its potential use as a conference venue but cannot comment on this aspect).

campanile review
Great staff, if you take the trouble to talk to them, basic rooms but everything clean & functional , good food at the right price. I have only stayed here mid week on business, I would imagine the bar/ restaurant could come alive at the weekends & holidays however mid week its full of introverted labourers, nothing wrong with this when your working but maybe off putting if you are on holiday. A basic value for money hotel

2nd floor room no lift clean and basic only 2 towels
Hotel is tired and dated but clean. Staff are very friendly but facilities in room lacking. Bath mat has to be collected from reception but was in poor state. Tea/coffee of poor quality. Good comfortable bed. Room quiet and of nice size.
