Ideal for Palace Theatre

Have stayed at The Palace on previous occasions.

The hotel is ideal for our purposes, being as it is next door to The Palace Theatre. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. However, the decor was a little tired and in need of a make over. For example, a couple of the wooden floor blocks had rotted away leaving a very noticeable 'pothole' and the clothes hook on the bathroom door was missing. Just felt that this iconic Manchester landmark good do with a little TCL treatment.

I booked the hotel for my mum and grandma, they absolutely loved it.

Staff were so friendly and helpful with everything and the rooms were spectacular. So much history to the building and in the best location.

Stayed 3 nights on business

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Room clean and comfortable. Not much of a view but location of my room was nice and quiet. Downside was the breakfast. On each of the 3 mornings the eggs were dried up and hard and food was luke warm. Did not eat any other meals here so can't comment on standard of food otherwise. Breakfast poor value for £14 so while I would stay again, would book accommodation only and eat breakfast elsewhere

Comfortable well -furnished room

My stay was relaxed and problem free - perfect for what I wanted .

Room was large and well-furnished. Hot water took a very long time to come through to basin tap and room was a little too cool for a chilly autumn night. There was a free standing heater, which I used, suggesting awareness of the problem. Please can rooms have feather/softer pillows even if they are in the wardrobe as alternatives - the thick foam ones, so common in hotel rooms, are not comfortable at all . Would stay there again though.

conference stay

I had a conference to attend nearby so booked the night before and night of conference.

Good rate, cheaper than others. Room was small and short on electric sockets and rather cold but provided with extra heater. chamber staff excellent, really clean all round. breakfast also excellent, with chef on hand for eggs and omelettes etc. I would certainly recommend this very grand hotel. I was made to feel comfortable in the bar lounge, which is not always the case for a woman on her own.

City Break

The hotel was refurbished to an excellent standard as many of the original features as possible being retained.

The room was large, light and beautifully decorated. It had a SMART TV so no problem finding all the stations. The bathroom was very spacious with good lighting. The only drawback was that the room was on the main road and a little noisy. This is to be exected and I should have requested a room at the back. Also, further work was being carried out at the hotel and a few more sign posts towards the reception would have helped. Other than that I was very pleased.
