We paid a little more on arrival to be upgraded to a better room - it was fantastic - thank you
Worth what we paid..... just!!
A pleasant hotel but certainly wasn't worth any more then the reduced rate we paid (£75).
We were told by the concierge that he had upgraded us to a deluxe room too, but it certainly wasn't like the deluxe rooms they were advertising. Poor lighting and a very small double bed is not what you'd expect. Breakfast also wasn't great. Friendly staff and location is about all it had going for it.
The Palace Hotel
Well presented. Could have had the extra towels out and some more toiletries but overall very positive.
At check in we were on time but the rooms weren't the receptionist tried her best to keep us informed but at least they had a nice lobby to wait in.
Once in the room it was a good size but very old I think trying to be regal but just not quite got there. I don't think it was massively clean very dusty and creaky.
What a Place
We attended a Christmas party here so decided to stay for one night with breakfast.
The room we were given was lovely, but also was so cold, we had to ring reception and they sorted another room for us. This room was lovely and warm, a lovely lady who said she was a housekeeper there helped us move. We saw her later on and she asked if everything was ok. Next day we had breakfast which was lovely and loads of choices.
We were originally put in room 5116.
Definitely not 4 star. Room was situated away from all the others and was dirty & worn down. The heater/air con was noisy, dust was visible on the furniture, a mismatch of carpets and the bathroom was mouldy.
We requested to move rooms on the second night which was done without fuss, but the fact they had the cheek to put us in the grubby room in the first place spoilt the overall experience.
2.30pm receptionist didn't have our standard double room ready so upgraded us to a deluxe double straight away. on entry to the room it was extremely comfortable and warm, the bed was very comfortable. we thoroughly enjoyed our evening their, after a visit to the palace theatre it was literally a stones throw to walk back to the hotel, we stopped at the lounge bar for a night cap, breakfast the next morning was very nice, there was a full selection to chose from, the staff were all very helpful, will definitely choose the Palace hotel the next time I am in manchester
The Palace was spacious and comfy.
The only downside would be the noise from Oxford Station just across the road and the bathroom needed some serious TLC.
Access to everything .
Welcoming reception and fast room services. The room was clean and cosy but the notice out side was not pleaent . And it was cold as they side the system is shut down and will back in the morning. And my saty was during the winter. So I had to ask for extra heater.
With the heater was ok .. And the price was high compare to the room.. But overall I like it ..
Palace hotel manchester excellent
