No one when i arrived, no food, no help with the baggages, no check out, messy bathroom

no one was there when i arrived and i had to wait for 1 hour and a half until 12.00, i paid my room to the cleaner of my room, although they have good beer and the wifi was working.

Great for a night out or two in Newcastle - easy access

I stayed here on business as well as leisure in April 2015.

For the price I paid for two nights, it presented outstanding value for money up to £80 for 2-3 people. Staff very friendly, has a bar downstairs in the main part, then rooms are around the back. Plenty of free parking available, right by Heworth Metro as well and WIFI. If you're looking to stay somewhere for a weekender in Newcastle, this place does the job. If you want to pay high prices then go somewhere a bit fancier, but I would stay at the Maiden Motel again. OK, it may have basic facilities but you're not there to study the place, it's a place to stay the night or weekend if you're looking to party. The landlord was a top guy and friendly too.

Good value for money

For the price I paid the room was quite decent with a spacious bath and ample hot water.

Rooms were very warm and I had control of the heating...good A+

Downside for me was the bed. Mattresses were worn and felt like sleeping on springs. The sheets had marks on them. After the pub/reception shut I was not advised how to make contact with the host. I did not see anyone either when I left after 9am. Was not sure where to leave the key.

Maiden motel

No card facilities here so you need to have the cash with you for your room.

The pub opened at 4 pm each day and closed at 9pm Monday to thursday. We only stayed those days so not sure what opening hours are at weekends. Room was very cheap so put up with some of the things not right in the room. We expected tea and coffee facilities, there was a kettle and tea bags but no coffee or milk. If we were returning to Gateshead we might stay here again. The good thing is that there was free parking and very close to bus and metro. Good pubs 5 minutes along the road in Pelaw.

Get what you pay for.

I've read most of the reviews and wasn't expecting too much when I arrived, we paid £27 for a room that sleeps 3, 1 double and 1 single.

I was in the single, my mother and sister shared the double. my bed was ok, was clean but not the comfiest, the double had hairs in it so my sister slept on top of the duvet, my mothers pillow sheet looked dirty on one side so she turned it over. I was the first one up in the morning and had a bath as there was no fixing on the wall for the shower head attached to the taps, my bath was hot so I was happy but after that there was no more hot water. the radiators in the room didn't work. the carpet should be thrown out and the walls repainted. the radiator had a stain on it (maybe sick) but considering it cost £9 for each of us and it was just somewhere to lay our head for the night until we got the train home in the morning it done the job. would be good for stags and hen parties that aren't to fussy or someone just looking to lay their head for 1 night. (Take your own cup and hot drinks as the ones provided aren't great, but there is a kettle, tv was good nice and big, towel was brand new, make sure to take your own shower gel/shampoo etc too, take pj's too incase the radiators don't work)
