Expectations exceeded

Great welcome, room slightly cramped by double bed, but the sleep excellent; it more than compensated for its emphasis.

Comfortable and an early breakfast accommodated with a smile, with all the cold food provisions carefully laid out in the breakfast room refrigerator. The ready smile of the lady proprietor would melt most hearts and questions, which were met with an easy and friendly manner.

Winter break

Excellent three day stay.

Even though it got to minus three outside in the night the room was warm. Plenty of hot water in the late afternoon for a bath after a hard day out. Breakfast was very good with plenty of selection. Very relaxed atmosphere.

An excellent B&B, well placed !

The room was a little small but gave a great view over the Church to the hills beyond.

It's nice and quiet being off the main road. Good breakfast and a nice cuppa !........ Very friendly staff. Nothing negative to report here other than the parking behind the guest-house is a little tight although there appear to be a few spaces on the road outside the front-door, if you can get them . All in all , a perfect base for Ambleside and environs.

Very pleasant stay

Good base for exploring Windemere and the southern lakes.

Ambleside is a lovely town. Let's hope the council don't ruin it by letting Premier Inns build that hotel on the hill. Parking is a bit limited so get there early. The breakfast was very well cooked and the room was comfortable with a nice view over the park, though a bit small.
