Has all you need for an overnight stay.
We read all the previous reviews beforehand and were worried.
Yes, the club does stay open until 2pm but as we were out at a party until about midnight (and we even popped in downstairs for a cheeky drink before retiring) it really didn't bother us that the music was still playing. The room had all we needed (towels are provided by the way) and good value for money. It could be better improved if the dingy alley way and "fire exit"-style stairway/terrace could be refurbished and made more welcoming. Only downside for us were the pesky seagulls that woke up at the crack of dawn and love hanging around on the terrace/rooftop next door. Very loud and annoying but I suppose the venue can't do anything about that. I wouldn't stay here for a long trip but for a night or two, it does the job!
Staff were friendly.
Got very confusing as there are 2 winelodges so took as a while to realise this. Not a child friendly place to stay as it's VERY noisy (expected over a bar). But we had a pleasant enough stay and I would stay again but not with my 5yr old daughter.
Improvements might be to not have a shelf above the tiny sink in the bathroom as you can't brush your teeth very well. And sort the back steps and area out, paint it and make it a bit more presentable.
Worth every penny
The executive room with fitted kitchen and ensuite was really nice and value for money.
The fridage kept thngs extremely cold, the tv was 42 inches with a brilliant picture. The kitchen facilities were excellent. The shower was powerful and very hot. There was a balcony but it overlooked the alleyway and dis not have a view of anything pleasant but a short walk rectified that. For the money, which was and is incredibly cheap you could not get a better foom with better facilities. The bed was really comfortable and the area/room was very quiet. You could not hear the bar downstairs and it shut at 10pm anyway.
I honestly don't think the people hired to clean these rooms do anything but change the bedding as it was the only thing that didn't have marks and dust all over....the cups had rings in them and the rims thick dirty the door frames were furry and so were the blinds..
The bathroom....i have no words for the bathroom it was horrendous. Even the bar downstairs was just sticky and not clean.. Let the whole place down as the decor is actually nice. Sorry but I will not return here and won't recommend to anyone.
didnt like my experience here.
as we arrived we could see downstairs was a bar so we asked if we would be fine with the music not coming through from downstairs and was told they have sound proof walls and everything so would be fine which was not the case because could hear this until 12.30am. also another loud noise similar to drilling continously. and when we went to check out on monday, says check out before 11am, went downstairs to reception to find it closed. tried ringing number on key which does not work and found another number which called that until 1.30pm still no reply.
Not a happy customer, The worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
Stayed with my pregnant girlfriend. On arrival get told we haven't booked a room, their had been a mix up, after we checked in and got it sorted, was told their wasn't breakfast. The website said it was complimentary. Then got told their was a Dj but all the rooms was soundproof, fair enough. Got to 10 pm, the floor was shaking and couldn't hear a thing from the tele ring the hotel and get nothing but pure attitude from the supervisor, ask for a refund if I go home not and they just said no and the music will stop shortly. Yeah at half 2 in the morning. Then the drunks outside!. Up till 3, paid 50 quid for a night to have 4 hours sleep, utterly disgraceful customer service. Poor hotel, room was dirty and smelt funny. No toiletries. Just awful have wrote a complaint to their head office. Extremely not happy ruined my weekend away.
Room was nothing like description or pictures.
Badly lit. Bed sheet on wrong way round so it didn't fit the bed (lazy) duvet cover old with holes in. Mattress badly marked. Cobwebs and dust in the room. Bathroom sink had shaving debris from previous occupant. excrement near toilet roll holder on the wall. More cobwebs. Excrement in toilet brush which also was broken. Badly scaled sink and plug hole
Shower was black all around the bottom. All in all a totally disgusting room poorly managed by lazy people with no thought to detail or general cleanliness. I would not recommend this hotel. As I feel the word hotel inappropriate.
Worst nights sleep ever
The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in.
The springs were digging into my ribs and even sleeping on top of the duvet instead of under it didn't help. AWFUL
Cheap and basic for nice price.
Was a very nice restaurant and lovely fresh buffet breakfast.
However the room was clean but extremely uncomfortable bed which gave both of us back pains, also the disgusting stench of the bathroom was very unbearable therefore waking us around 6am due to this and wanting to gag and throw up by the bad smell. Also going up the pitch black stairs in the rain is very slippery and dangerous!
