A little Northumbrian gem

East House was my first stop on a short break in England's Border County.

Chosen for its low cost and proximity to the Coast it nonetheless surprised and delighted me. My single room was very very comfortable with a bed to die for and the associated bathroom supplied a huge bath and perfect shower with lashings of hot water. Although the proprietor greeted me warmly on arrival, she permitted me complete freedom and privacy. A real home from home-I will be back!

Mr.& Mrs.Carter's stay @ East House.

A very comfortable room with charming period features and lovely views over open fields.A very hospitable and friendly proprietor who was most helpful.

a very quiet, pleasant stay if you not bothered about staying out late in the evening. great for us.

loved staying here as it was away from the normal centre bed and breakfasts.

took my dad for a break and he loved it. peace and quiet. we were left to our own devices but needed nothing. a very nice welcome, and a very pleasant stay. would definetly stay again. well worth the money. would have liked to have stayed longer.

'Half-way house' on our Northumberland charity walk

East House provided a much needed 'comfort stop' half way through a 50 mile walk my daughter and I were doing on behalf of the Tikondwe Youth project in Malawi, raising funds to empower local people through education.

The room was warm and adequately furnished, the bath water hot and the beds comfortable.

The following day we were also provided sound directions for the next leg of our walk. Unfortunately, prior to arrival, we were not made aware by your website that the room could only be paid for by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Fortunately my daughter was able to transfer funds from her account to the owners but I imagine this would pose a problem for some travellers.
