Hall in in a beautiful area and the building has some lovely features.

However the rooms are poorly cleaned and the place is very dated in its decor. Breakfast was a complete joke and the food was not that good when it arrived. Also been given somebody's left over toast as been fresh for you was the final straw. If you want to get away from everything then it is a good place to go however not for the prices V standards.

Get away from it all.

I described this place as the origional haunted house hotel, a fantastic old building in the middle of nowhere.

Food was basic but good, very freindly owners & staff. The twin room (4) was quite dated although the bathroom was OK but did not sleep well as duvet was too small but colleges double room was OK

Remote and peaceful

Very friendly, polite and helpful staff.

Food was excellent with a good menu catering for wide variety of tastes, wait was acceptable. Room was very good except for lack of opening windows which made it a little stuffy in the heat and it would have been a little more cozy with a sofa rather than separate chairs. Would recommend without hesitation.

Great discovery

Hotel is very clean and run by very friendly staff, we had dinner which was wonderful our only little moan is that breakfast took nearly 50 minutes to arrive from ordering, but it was hot and well cooked and very tasty.

We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Constructive comments

Family run, friendly and informal hotel but not of the quality one would expect for the room rate charged.

Although room was large it lacked comfortable seating , no shaving light above mirror. Very small tv at end of room too far from bed. No hotel info in bedrooms. Home cooked food which was nicely cooked but limited menu not helped by dishes being unavailable. Would be good idea to relocate pool table to allow more seating in bar which is cosy with real fire.

clennell hall

On arrival had to go and look for staff to check in.

Very uninviting reception area, bedroom cold. Dining room had peeling wall paper due to damp, food more suited to a staff canteen. Bedroom 7 over the public bar so very difficult to sleep as bar open till 2 am. Booked for two nights, left after one.
