A warm welcome to a lovely house with beautiful views
I arrived drenched and tired after a wet day cycling the Hadrian's Wall route, to a friendly welcome from Mrs. Locke who took away my wet gear to dry on her Aga and produced a much needed cup of tea and cake in the guests' sitting room. The house is beautifully kept and there is a garden with panoramic views of the hills. Breakfast good, the usual " full English". I had the room without an ensuite bathroom, but the spacious bathroom is right next to it and not shared, so it felt pretty much like ensuite. Mrs. Locke does not cook evening meals every day, and was not cooking that evening, but her husband drove me to the local pub (about 3 miles), which was fine - good beer and standard pub menu. In the evening I strolled down to the village, not much there but quiet and attractive. Altogether a really pleasant stopover, highly recommended - cyclists note it is just under 4 miles north from the nearest point of the route 72, and well worth the few minutes extra cycling!

A pleasant stop-over
We chose this due to its location near Hadrians Wall. It is a little out of the way but well worth seeking out. We were given tea in the garden on a lovely summer afternoon. The rooms were comfortable and everything we couold have wanted was provided - including wifi.

Fabulous Farmhouse
A great place to stay. The welcoming tea and homemade biscuits/scones in their lovely warm lounge were great. Margaret and her husband are lovely hosts. Rooms were very clean and well set up. We shall definitely stay here again.
