Keep this hotel a secret & enjoy its pleasures all to yourself
It doesn't wow from the outside particularly & the car park needs sweeping (cigarette butts etc) but inside its really lovely.
Very spacious reception rooms both elegant & comfortable. Most of the staff were foreign & spoke between themselves in their own language so easy to think they were talking bad about you. However, they were pleasant enough in English. There was nothing lacking in the room, everything had been catered for. I did wake in the night to the sound of someone peeing in the room above & then later taking their shower....... surprising in a way because the room had a high ceiling. The only niggle was the shower curtain which is fitted too close to the shower & 'sucked itself' on to me which was annoying but could be easily fixed. I loved the garden(s) quite magical a hidden twist & turn with a lovely view at the end & I spent much time out there. The check-in time is late & annoying although they were willing to let you leave your suitcase in the hall assuring that it would be safe but when I came back 5mins later there was no-one around watching it. Anyway, it was safe on that occassion but must be annoying situation to everyone
Functional B&B close to the centre of St Peter Port.
Hotel itself is looking a bit dated, particularly the communal areas. Our bedroom was reasonably modern though with a nice bathroom. Staff were a little bit varied - at breakfast we asked to sit by the window but were told those tables were set for dinner so we couldn't. Another waiter did then rearrange the table (by which I mean removed the wine glasses) to accommodate. Outside of that we barely saw any staff. Nothing to really complain about, a solid 2* hotel, if a little pricey for what you get. But a clean and well presented room in a decent location.
Good clean hotel
Nice hotel at top of steep hill.
clean and fresh, nice decor. staff friendly and helpful. would recommend this hotel.
A very good 3 day stay
We were very impressed with our room which had clearly been recently redecorated.
It was airy and spacious. The ensuite was rather small and the door and extractor fan noisy. Breakfast was excellent with good and polite staff. Manager was very helpful on our last day allowing us to leave the car for a few hours and to use cloakroom facilities prior to catching the ferry. The Hotel location is excellent for walking the Island with added bonus of being close to the bus station.
A nice hotel, large room and had everything we needed.
The shower was very snug but adequate. The room had recently had a new lick of paint and the online pictures could do with updating to reflect this, hence the title 'exceeded expectations'.
One night stay
I was looking for a hotel for my other half & I to stay later on in the year.
The welcome was poor, with little to no info being related - breakfast times only. The room was a good size & clean, but the bed and that mattress (Very thin/no support). I hit the base of the bed (No, I'm not over weight!). The plate glass windows at the front of the hotel meant that everything outside felt like it was in the room with me, this inc the traffic plus bins & glass banks being emptied in the small hours. Breakfast was OK, I had a lovely view over the garden. Handy location for the buses (Bottom of the hill) and not far too walk from the ferry port or town center.
Great hotel for a 2 star hotel, beautiful view from the lounge and extremely well priced.
