A beautiful bed and breakfast in a beautiful area.
I went to this bed and breakfast with the intention of staying for 1 night.
When we arrived we were greeted by one of the owners, Janet, who was extremely welcoming. We were shown where we could park and were shown to our room. We arrived early as we were going to go for a walk before checking in but we were told we could check in early if we wanted so we had somewhere to put our things.
The room: The room was beautiful. We stayed in the luxury double which was clean and well presented. There was an en suite bathroom which was also clean. I suffer from hayfever and eczema which Janet noticed when we arrived. She offered to change the bedding from feather pillows and duvet incase I was allergic to this.
The area: There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area. There is a visitor centre around the corner which is very handy! There are fantastic views and places to walk.
Unfortunately we ended up leaving the same evening we arrived due to unforeseen illness so I cannot comment on breakfast. However the short time we spent here was wonderful and we hope to be returning soon!!

Fantastic Place to Stay
My partner and I stayed at the Causeway House from 6th to 8th June, and we had a fantastic stay. Janet and Nick are very friendly and helpful, and made us feel so welcome at all times. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and have lots of suggestions for different places. One thing that particularly impressed us was their vegetarian breakfast menu - about 7 different types of meat-free sausage!! Breakfast as a whole, whether you are veggie or not, had a great variety and very tasty and filling so it's no wonder they've won so many breakfast awards. We stayed in the Garden Room and it was a really good size. Despite being by the road, Castleton is a quiet village and we were not disturbed by any traffic at all. We would fully recommend the Causeway House B&B, and we're planning to stay again later in the year.

A Flying Visit
Conveniently located stop over, most hospitable hosts who took genuine trouble to make us feel welcome. Amazing range at breakfast time - vegetarians incredibly well catered for.

Look no further!
What a find, I cannot rate this place enough; both Nick and Rachel were so welcoming. The room was superb, bed very comfortable, and small touches like chocolates on the bed demonstrate th owner's commitment to guest comfort.
Breakfast was delicious, unlike previous reviewers, individual portions of marmalade are most welcome, rather than a dubious 'previously owned' communal pot!
My only disappointment - we were only there for one night, would definitely visit again. Thanks again to Nick and Rachel.

Helpful and comfortable
Nick and Janet were immensely kind and helpful. When lost in Castleton Nick waited in the dark outside the B&B looking out for me. The room was deliciously comfortable and the breakfast was first class. My only disappointment being the commercial, packeted jams and marmalade, rather than the homemade preserves often provided by other B&Bs of simliar quality. The attention to detail by the couple who clearly care deeply for their business and vistors could not be bettered. The only slip-up was some food left in a drawer by a previous occupant which was missed when the room was cleaned. Janet could not have been more apologetic and I doubt that will ever happen again. My visit was a real pleasure.

First class as usual
First class as usual, we shouldn't say this as all the rooms will be booked when we want to stay next time!
