Reviews - The Farndon Arms

4Self Classified Inn Ratings explained
The Farndon Arms, High Street High Street, Chester, CH36PU
The pretty village of Farndon with the River Dee forming the border to Wales close by is an ideal setting for this 16th Century Inn. A fine selection of cask ales, wine and dining, country walks and modern comforts make it a splendid place to stay. The five boutique en-suite bedrooms are decorated with a mural depicting a local landmark, as well as comfortable, modern furnishings including flat screen TV's, hospitality trays, direct dial telephones, fluffy towels and comfy bathrobes. Stay for a romantic break, getaway weekend of country walks, a snuggle by the open fire or perhaps it's a business meeting in the area. Free WIFI in all rooms and plenty of parking help to make your stay complete.

it is a shame the hotel needs a lot of money spending on it, the food was very good, but we were disappointed with the standard of the room certainly not executive standard, more a travel lodge the tv reception was very poor . it was all a little cramped because there was to much in the room

A beautiful village and an excellent welcome
Once inside a warm welcome was given.
The room was a good size with all we needed for our time there.
The restaurant was amazing. The food was delightful!!
My only reservation was the stairs. Access for less able residents
could be a problem. But overall I highly recommend the Farndon.

Lovely weekend break
We stayed at The Farndon for one night as part of a weekend birthday break. The room was gorgeous, just wanted to put the comfy bath robe on and stay in but went out for a drive and wander around Chester instead as it was so close. Ended the night back at The Fardon and it was so nice to sit in a pub and not be blasted by music or a TV. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely in the morning . Hope to go back soon in the New Year.

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere
Enjoyable stay, particularly enjoyed the convenience of eating in the pub and the food was really good. Good parking, helpful & friendly staff, service a little slow at times but still a lovely personal service. After-hours entry to the accommodation via external spiral staircase was a bit odd and I'm sure would cause issues for people with less mobility or after a few drinks.
