The Unicorn, Ripon - a J D Wetherspoon Hotel
Stayed here on business. The accommodation was very good value, with the newly-refurbished room very neat and the bed very comfortable. The receptionist on my arrival was extremely helpful especially regards to parking. I would have no doubt in recommending the accommodation. However, the food in the restaurant was another matter, being truly awful. Do not eat here! Ripon has a number of excellent restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel.

Great affordable hotel
Great value for money. Recently done the rooms up, so modern feel to them. Great being able to get good value and decent food downstairs. No onsite parking, but parking at Sainsburys which is a few minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend and will be staying again!

Great value and location
We had a family room that was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It overlooked the market square which was lovely as the Christmas lights were all on making it feel very festive. There was some noise from late night revellers but didn't really bother us and certainly didn't disturb the children. Thoroughly enjoyed out stay and a perfect base to explore Ripon.

Brilliant location with a room looking out on to the market square. Don't miss Appletons for a pie and a savoury duck, or Thomas the bakers for a curd tart.. Prima italian restaurant is just round the corner and very good.

Absolutely lovely
The second time we've stayed at the unicorn, still think it is lovely. The rooms are so clean and fresh.
The food in the pub restaurant is excellent, service is good.
Definitely recommend it to people. Look forward to staying there again.

overnight stay
The hotel is situated right in the centre of the market square in Ripon. The room was excellent. .very large. The bathroom was fantastic. Everything was extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of towels and other room extras I.e. tea and coffee etc. Very very highly recommended.
