Look no further
The Unicorn is a historic inn perfectly located on Ripon's main square whose rooms have been very well refurbished and are comfortable and generally spacious. They have interesting decorative touches, such as good quality artwork by local schoolchildren (a typical example of the company's interest in working with the local community). I stay here regularly; there is always a buzz downstairs and the value is always excellent. If you are lucky, you might even see (and hear!) Ripon's nightly Hornblower ceremony without leaving the comfort of your room.

Perfectly placed!
We have stayed at the unicorn on numerous occasions using it as a base while visiting friends in Ripon. We've never had a bad experience-staff are friendly and customer focused, food is great value for money and the rooms are well decorated and spacious. Parking is a little tight but gives you an opportunity to test your driving skills as you try to negotiate your way out of the small car park!

Pleasant stay
Stayed at the Unicorn to attend a wedding nearby. Very pleasant check in, room nicely decorated. Bed bit too firm for me but can't fault it for cleanliness. Food available in the pub all cheap and cheerful pub fare. Breakfast excellent value. Staff all friendly. Bit noisy at kicking out time (early hours Sunday morning). We had room 107.

Great location, great staff & good hotel.
Hotel located in city center, so some street noise to be expected, but all in all a very good experience.

Great Stay
This is our third time at this hotel and it was excellent. the hotel itself is centrally located just round the corner from the bus station, the rooms are spacious and well decorated. The staff on the hotel side of things are great but the bar side of things does need improvements....typical wetherspoons food and not enough staff on bar at night, that side has dropped since we last stayed.

Despite a fan being provided the room was very hot and a long way to carry luggage up 3 flights.

Comfortable stopover
Clean, modern and comfortable rooms. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Reasonably priced. Stayed overnight before visiting Lightwater Valley. Reception gave us a discount voucher which saved us over £30 on admission charges, which was very welcome. Would return if travelling in that area again.
