Reviews - The Troutbeck Inn

4Visit England Assessed Inn Ratings explained
Troutbeck Inn , Penrith, CA11 0SJ
The Troutbeck Inn, in the quiet hamlet of Troutbeck, was once the Station Hotel when the railway was still operating between Penrith & the west coast. It is now a 4 Star Country Inn with Cottages.

There are 7 newly refurbished ensuite bedrooms including doubles, twin, family & single plus 3 self catering cottages. Most of the bedrooms offer wifi connection & wonderful views of the surrounding fells, plus complimentary tea & coffee making facility & freeview television.

The Troutbeck Inn is open to both residents & non-residents in our bar, lounge/bar & restaurant (for restaurant dining it is recommended that you book in advance). Dinner is from an a la carte menu which is freshly prepared using the best quality ingredients sourced locally where possible. To compliment your meal we have a carefully selected wine list & full bar with local real ales. Lunch is served in the bar & lounge/bar. We welcome well behaved dogs in all of our bedrooms by prior arrangement, but must not be left in the room unattended.

PLEASE BOOK YOUR TABLE FOR DINNER PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AS WE CANNOT PROMISE AVAILABILITY FOR RESIDENTS UNLESS PRE-BOOKED.

Residents & non-residents who wish to dine with their pet can do so in the bar. Troutbeck is ideally situated for fell walking, both Blencathra & Helvelyn are just a short distance away. Ullswater lake is 5 miles and the popular market towns of Keswick & Penrith are both 8 miles away. We look foward to welcoming you and are sure you will have an enjoyable stay with us at The Troutbeck Inn

Nice accomodation in perfect location for exploring nearby Lakes and other attractions.
Really liked the Inn and found the staff helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a lovely grilled breakfast each morning and the restaurant food was really good quality too. Chose this accommodation as it's dog friendly and a convenient location. Easy 10 minutes drive into Keswick and not far from some beautiful walks, including a waterfall on the way to Ullswater and of course around the nearby Lakes. Nice walk along a country road 2 minutes away for first thing dog walking. Hope to be back another time!

Excellent location for access to the areas that we wished to visit. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the meal was superb. The inn was immaculately clean throughout. However, although we found the staff polite they were not particularly friendly. When asked if everything was ok on departing we mentioned that we had had a poor second night's sleep due to noise from the room above but received no reply at all from the member of staff concerned which made it seem as though he couldn't care less.

Quiet, relaxing stay.
NIce room , well furnished , but decoration could do with updating. Excellent shower room . Food in restaurant excellent, both for dinner, and for breakfast next morning . Service excellent in every way . We only stopped for one night on our way north , but would recommend it as a peaceful and quiet stay .
