Small but adequate

Small but adequate room.

The staff was really nice, helpful and efficient. A few insects in the shower, also the water flow is a little on the low side. Great location. A very good accommodation if you want to explore Amsterdam and not stay confined to your room.

Small room, great location, helpful and friendly reception staff.

Whilst our room was tiny for two women travelling together and the bed had a wobbly mattress on it that slipped off during the night, this was really the only problem.

The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating. The next night when My Mother and I shared a room, I asked for a bigger room with a better mattress and we got this for free (it was out of season). Great location for visiting museums and the rest of town is very conveniently close.

Good location

The hotel is in a prime location which makes up for the small room and very small bathroom.

The staff are very efficient and friendly.

We would have liked to have had a drink at the bar in the evening. However it was not customer friendly and had no atmosphere. I am not sure whether we would stay at this hotel again..

Lovely experience

Went for a few days to Amsterdam and enjoyed the city, made better by the friendliness of our hosts.

Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day.

not nice and not cheap

The hotel lobby looked great when we arrived , but the not very nice reception desk explained to us we had to 1.

get out of the hotel 2. turn right 3. walk other 40 metres and go to "the other entrance of the hotel" which in fact was a cheap and dirty aparthotel. The room was very small and not clean, matress had two holes in it. Nothing in the room made it the three stars hotel advertised on the site. Personnel was really unpleasant. Also, the breakfast in the morning was a joke: discount food for 12.5 euros per person, and if you wanted a cappuccino or a pastry 1 euro extra was charged. A place to forget

A little cramped, but good value for city centre at last minute

After our plans in the south of holland fell through we headed back to Amsterdam and made the booking within a couple of hours of checking in.

We paid around £300 for Saturday - Monday on a Dutch bank holiday so on reflection the room was very good value for money. The hotel is close to the canal tours, Heineken Experience and the Rijksmuseum and a 10 min tram ride from Amsterdam centraal station. The room was a little small but comfortable and located in the lower ground floor overlooking the courtyard terrace. The room was pretty quiet. Bathroom had a shower cubicle and was extremely small. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Blowing Hot and Cold at Museumhotel

Well, I have to say the venue is lovely and a great position.

But I got serious bad vibes from one or two staff. Just one really, he was on late, plump, glasses.... I approached the check-in to ask a question during his shift and he cut me dead "... you can't see I am busy. I will talk to you when I am available...." - £300 for a box room (gorgeous overlooking canal...) but some very preformed ideas about us, a little too personal (as in agro!!) this is customer service !. come on guys. Also overcharged and any food or drink you are talking 5 Euros for one small bottle gf water minimum...

Oh dear :-(

Amsterdam trip

We requested three luxury rooms for three couples on a trip to Amsterdam.

I had also requested a quiet room with a view. First room allocated was small and on 1st floor and overlooked what looked like a commercial property/kitchen - large stain on the carpet and one curtain was dirty and the other torn, we requested a change. Replacement was on the third floor even smaller and overlooking a very busy road. Room appeared clean but had no toileteries (shampoo container fixed to shower wall was empty) robes or additional pillows. My husband and I could not fit together into the very small bedroom. Traffic noise terrible and we had very little sleep. Friends had same experience - We advised reception that we were very disappointed that our 'luxury' rooms were small and without any 'luxuries' and no better than we would expect from a cheaper standard room but were not offered any apology or change. I am coming to Amsterdam monthly but would not consider booking this hotel again
