Rooms are very dated but clean.
Beds were very comfortable, but that's it. TV wouldn't work kept loosing signal. Shower didn't work properly, you had to stand on the plug to get the hair dryer to work. For £74 not good value wouldn't go back
£70 a night but can't understand why
First impressions were ok, we managed to park up and enter our room using the keypad code.
The room seemed alright, bathroom was fairly clean. However, the bed was an absolute joke. Two twin beds held together by a double sheet. The beds were on wheels so the mattresses and beds separated constantly and even rolling over in bed resulted in the bed moving. The headboards (one per twin bed) were not attached to the beds and fell on to the bed, which is a bit odd if you are lying down, would scare you death of it happened whilst you were sleeping. We had to prop the headboards against the wall but then we noticed how filthy it was down the back of the bed. This made me question the cleanliness of the whole room. The location was good, the room was basic, shower was quite a squeeze but the main problem was the bed. I can't understand why this cost £70 a night. Just wish we'd checked trip advisor first...
Cheap and cheerful for a place to stay for city break.
Easy access to town via cab or bus. Wouldn't recommend for families though as rooms can be very small.
The accommodation was quiet - what we wanted.
It was clean and served daily. We enjoyed the benefits of off road parking. We had read comments about the safety of the area, but felt safe. Locals were friendly. There were some problems with the door code to begin with, but they were quickly sorted out by phoning reception at the hotel - there are no staff at Grove Suites. We made use of the kitchen, which was clean and had the basics. We enjoyed nearby Sefton Park and Lark Lane and Liverpool 1 was easy to reach by bus - bottom of the road.
Not impressed at all
I was given entrance codes via email which worked 1st time.
This really should have alerted me to the type of accomodation I had booked but when we got into the "Hotel" it turned out to be an old victorian house with matching decor. the internet was sprodatic until it eventually stopped working and despite a call to the number on the contact sheet never came back online. The TV was losing signal every couple of minutes which was really annoying. NO BREAKFAST despite it being a 3 start hotel and me paying £70 for the pleasure. This will of course teach me to read the description properly in future. finally the pictures that ent6iced me to stay there in the 1st place was nothing like what I encountered
Great place to stay
The street is extremely quiet, and the room had black out blinds and a fridge.
There are cooking facilities in a separate kitchen which is really useful. The bed was really huge (two singles pushed together I think, but still very big). Overall a good place to stay. I have only given customer service a 4 because when I rang up the person answering had a very strong accent and was quite hard to understand!
