Reviews - BEST WESTERN Parkmore Hotel & Leisure Club

3AA Assessed Hotel Ratings explained
636 Yarm Road, Eaglescliffe , Stockton-On-Tees, TS16 ODH
Originally an old Victorian house, BEST WESTERN Parkmore Hotel and Leisure Club has been tastefully converted to a three star hotel that offers the best of past and present. The hotel has undergone a refurbishment program to enhance its period features, taking it from a traditional family run hotel to a more modern ‘boutique style' residence. The hotel is fit for all your exercising needs, with excellent leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool, spa, hydrotherapy spa, gym, sauna and beauty treatment rooms. We haves three well equipped conferences rooms too, as well as a civil ceremony license for those who want to tie the knot and celebrate the night away under one roof. JS @ 636 offers a wide range of modern British cuisine, using seasonal fresh produce where possible, and Eaglescliffe Golf Course opposite the hotel serves up gorgeous greens too! We're one mile from picturesque Yarm, with its cobbled high street voted best high street in the Britain 2007.

When we arrived the first room we were allocated was not ready as the bedding was not on the bed. After ringing reception we were then offered an alternate room in one of the hotels junior suite, which was a much better standard than our initial room. However outside this room was a very noisy fan that operated until 10.30pm at night and started again at 6.00am in the morning. We were hoping for a nice relaxing weekend with additional rest due to the extra hour in bed. Instead of which we were awoken by the noise of the fan and it was so loud there was no way we could go back to sleep. The leisure facilities were extremely good and we enjoyed using these. The breakfast was also disappointing as there were no plates for the cooked breakfast and no continental items available when we arrived. The toast looked like it had barely touched the toaster. When we checked out we politely mentionined to the receptionist that our room had been very noisy and that we felt someone should have warned us about the noise of the fan. The receptionist said no one else had complained about the noise of the fan which I find very difficult to believe as it was like the noise of a jet engine. If our stay had have been enjoyable we would certainly have booked again for next year when our son gets married. However after our experience we would never stay at this hotel again or recommend it to any one else.
