Disappointed . . .

I was in an attic room which was adequate, though the vertical blinds were in need of repair and some missing.

No hot water in the basin. I specifically requested for a breakfast at 6.15a.m., in the online booking, but only on arrival did the manager inform me that the chef didn't arrive until 7.00a.m., the time that I was due to start work. When I asked if I could partake of an uncooked breakfast, he said that wasn't possible as the dining room would not be unlocked until 7.00a.m. He refused to offer a discount for not having breakfast, saying the room price includes the breakfast. He showed no interest in suggesting any way that I could receive any of the breakfast I'd paid for other than waiting until 7.00a.m. for the chef to arrive. I'm very disappointed in the manager's attitude and that he didn't phone me to tell me that my request could not be accommodated.

Just what the Doctor ordered

We arrived at the guest house and were directed straight away to the car parking area at the back of the guest house.

The owners were most concerned (as my sister had trouble walking) because we had booked a room that was up four flights of stairs and said that if they had known they would have put us somewhere different, but we told them it would be ok, and it was. Everyone was really friendly and breakfast was great. There was plenty to eat and more if you required it. The people told us of a pub that we could have dinner and entertainment on the Saturday evening and also book for carvery on Sunday. Everything was lovely. The weather was not as bad as promised either. Would definitely book to go again. Thank you all for your hospitality and help.

Cheap and cheerful

Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

This is a 2 star guest house and provides a very basic place to stay. Best described as a typical 'contractor/working labourer' type of accommodation. Somewhere where you can crash out and sleep after a hard days graft. It is not somewhere you would take the kids for a holiday. Cleanliness could be improved, decor is a bit dated, but a perfectly friendly service. For the price, quite acceptable.

Weekend out West

Very pleasant stay and extremely convenient location between the station and the town centre.

Holiday Hike

This B&B is in need of an update with its antiquated TV and digital box and decor/bedding Not surprisingly we felt the breakfast had been measured and counted out especially with the Value range of Tesco cereals on offer Although the proprietor was very welcoming the establishment is very tired
