a great get away
After a last minute booking, this hotel was excellent for somewhere to escape to. The staff were very tentative at both reception and in the bistro. The room met my expectations, with good facilities and comfortable living space.

Was a great couple of days. Staff all friendly and very helpful. Rooms super, clean etc., Food was out of this world and very reasonable. Felt like we had been living there as was so comfortable. The lounge was great - loved the Glasses Chandelier!!! which the staff have to clean every week!

Great Hotel
The Hotel and staff were fantastic. The location worked for me, not being in the city centre and it was very pleasant to have an early morning run along the quayside

excellent staff - a room with views over the Tyne that would have benefitted from larger screen tv and a couple of cobwebs removed otherwise very good - an enjoyable stay

Ouseburn oozes with gritty Northern charm
This hotel sits amongst the former industrial tracts of East Newcastle, which are seeing a massive resurgence as culture descends. Visit the nearby Hoults Yard for world class street art or do a trail
of independent bars in this valley that hugs a tributery of the Tyne. The hotel itself is the old Tyne Tees Shipping Company as the tastefully framed archival photographs on the wall attest, overshadowing the dubious paintings of wine bottles, a little too obvious for the vin connection for me. Apart from that, this place is a gem, the staff low key but attentive and knowledable, the zinc topped bar a classic.

Booked the hotel du vin at the last minute as dinner and bed package. It was absolutely superb, the food was lovely, the staff were excellent and we had a really fab weekend. Will definitely be going back and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Lovely hotel, felt warm n welcome. Only downside was that the room was too hot on a night and the temperature gauge in the room wouldn't go lower than 16degrees but the room was never less than approx 20degrees. Other than that would recommend to others, good location within easy walking distance of town centre.

Great hotel
Excellent hotel close enough to the action to be convieniant, far enough away to be quiet. Fabulous rooms, and outstanding customer service. Little touches such as the toiletries including cotton pads and cotton buds, a Nespresso coffee machine as well as tean and coffee making facilities made it a great and relaxing stay. Have already booked our next visit.

Great Hotel noisy guests ?
The hotel itself exceptionally well presented, and the room was beatifully decorated. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. I had breakfast on two occasions and dinner once, the food was excellent, I had steak for dinner and must say it was cooked to perfection there was also an excellent choice of wines from around the world. The only drawback was that the rooms are situated around a small courtyard with tables and chairs outside, in the centre of the courtyard is a large smoking area which was very plush with cussions and a fireplace, I have no problems with smokers at all however this area was occupied throughout Sunday night until 04:45am and the occupants seemed to have no consideration for anyone who was trying to get some sleep. Overall a great hotel but on the nights I stayed a bit noisy....
