From a perfect position in Pride Park, pentahotel Derby is a gateway to Derby’s business district and all the city’s attractions. Step inside and experience a hotel that’s proud to be different. Our pentalounge - part hotel reception, part cool club – is the heart of penta: a friendly chill-out zone, designed by Italian architectural maestro Mattheo Thun. Your only problem will be wanting to extend your stay!

Luckily, we’re just minutes on foot from Derby’s central rail station, the airport is less than ten miles away and you’re on the doorstep of some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery, from the Peak District to the Derbyshire Dales. And if you’re looking for a more seat-of-the-pants day out, Alton Towers is just a rollercoaster ride away

Overall a nice hotel.
The short walk into Derby is a bit miss leading but otherwise a pleasant hotel with small gym and very nice food.

Had a very nice stay
Had a lovely weekend away, room was cleaned daily and was a very large room. Only fault we had was the bed seemed fairly uncomfortable.

Over cooked chips
Ordered a steak which was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately the chips were over cooked and we wasn't offered any replacement, but the waitress did tell the chef? Which did nothing.
If it wasn't for this the review would have been 100% positive.

could have been so much better - no good for anyone with stiff knees or back
Furniture minimalist but designed for appearance not use! Tea tray - with fixed kettle only ten inches or so off the floor , so to use it you had to sit or kneel on the floor - useless for anyone with stiff knees, bad back - or small children (as unsafe to leave boiling kettle so low for them), When we complained, staff said that was out of their control and did not offer to pass complaint up. No drawers at all , just a few coat hangers, so we had to live "out of the suitcase".
