Really friendly, the sofa was broken in the room they did apologise for it but didn't solve it wood was exposed so couldn't let our little one near it, but the cot we requested was put in our room for us & even got us a fan when little one had a temperature. 100% family friendly :)

More negatives than positives.
We stayed at the Habberly House hotel for 3 days at the end of August. We booked the hotel as it was cheap and had many positive reviews. There were some positives about Habberly House, the breakfast was good, good quality food and served hot, the bedding and towels were clean and the people running it in the absence of the owners were quite friendly. However, for me that is where the positives end, the room was dirty, the shower curtain in the tiny en suite was mouldy at the bottom, all the chrome fixings in the en suite were rusty and the net curtains were filthy, the decoration left a lot to be desired too. We had to park in the train station car park and walk to the hotel even though free on site parking was advertised. The hotel is situated in a really run down area and the surrounding properties were either boarded up or very run down, the pavements were littered with dog dirt and broken glass and I felt quite intimidated walking back to the hotel when it was getting dark with a young child.

Would not rate as de-luxe
First impressions count! Small outside seating area looked attractive at first glance but then noticed ash tray overflowing with cigarette ends - not emptied next day either.
Bedroom and bathroom not 100% clean. No towel rails or shelves in bathroom.
In sitting area sofa ripped and window in need of repair.
Room and hotel only worth their discounted rates. Owners seem to leave staff in charge.
Cooked breakfast OK, but had to ask for napkins, marmalade, etc.

When we arrived nothing was like the pictures on the website im a smoker and the ashtray outside was full to capacity the flower pots were no flowers really just full of weed we went downstairs to ask for the wifi code due to well supposed to be free wifi but nobody came to the bar so we just left it . The tap on the sink didn't work I booked that room for the bath and we run a bath on the Monday morning and it was freezing cold . We went down for breakfast no one showed us were anything was had to wander round the dining room ourselves for extra butter . The window sill in the bedroom was full of cigarette ash and it certainly wasn't my doing don't smoke in my own home . We then find out the owner is in Spain running his bar and its his brother running the hotel . We don't like complaining but we have stayed in a lot of hotels , we just feel that we had paid upfront and they didn't give a dam

Summer 2013
I stayed for two nights and Manager Roy was more than helpful, explaining the amenities of the guest house and offering a lovely home cooked English breakfast with plenty of extra toast, tea or coffee.
