go elsewhere!

Friendly staff but dark, musty, unclean establishment in the middle of nowhere.

Excellent staff who worked there.

Could not do enough and the breakfast was fab. Stayed for great north run. Quiet nights sleep but accept a lot of runners there.Yes it's dated accommodation but for a quick rest it was fine. Ten min walk to metro centre and bus stop at top of road is a 3 min walk from hotel.

Staff were really great and helpful to me.

Basic room but it had wifi, would recommend this hotel and hope to stay here again in the future...

Overnight in the Rowers Hotel

It was not a pleasant place to stay.

Our en-suite was dirty and smelly. We got the chap to come in to clean it and he gave it a going over with a mop and bucket which didn't lift the kirby grip which had been pointed out to him. He was distracted at the task because I pointed out to him that water had started to pour through the ceiling over my bedside unit where I was using my laptop). he 'fixed' that by going to speak to the person upstairs then folding a towel on the bedside unit; the ceiling dripped on to it all night. I got urine on my hand by lifting the toilet seat. My wife washed black muck away in the shower just by spraying round the cubicle. Corridors looked as though someone had taken a vacuum cleaner down the centre, leaving the edges very dirty. The cooked breakfast in the morning was just fine, but the blinds in the dining room / conservatory appeared to be covered in dust and mildew. I explained how we had encountered problems to the pleasant lady who gave us breakfast. The bed was clean and comfortable.
