Staff were very helpful, very polite, couldn't do enough for us.
Room was lovely (family room) everything you needed. Fridge was useful for bottles of milk. Beds were comfortable. Very good value for money (paid £69 family room only) and the kids loved the swimming pool :-) close to zoo, and Cheshire oaks. Local shops 5 mins away in car.
It was a lean place to stay, but not spotless. - just a little dust here and there, and some loose tablets in the bathroom bin - thank god our children didn't find them before us.
Great family accommodation
Great hotel- we arrived early, my fault I thought check in was 11.
The receptionist was very good and hurried up getting our room ready- we could use the pool while we waited the 20 minutes. We decided to wait in the reception area so she provided the 3 children with activity packs to keep them entertàined. The room was great with a double, 2 singles and a sofa bed. Pool was enjoyed by all . Great setting in the country, 30 minutes travel to chester zoo and city centre. Would definitely stay àgain. Lovely hotel and fantastic staff- they even have kids games and toys you can use!!
Great for large families.
We searched everywhere for a hotel near Chester Zoo that could take a family of 5.
Forest Hills was a great hotel only 20mins away from the zoo and with a great country feel. The room was large and very clean, and had everything a young family would need including a fridge. The staff were all very polite and extremely helpful. The hotel had fantastic views and excellent facilities including a pool. I would highly recommend and will be using this hotel the next time we are at the zoo or over that way.
Nice hotel but very expensive breakfast
I've stayed here several times as the hotel is quiet and the location is at the top of a hill so the views at breakfast are lovely and it's an easy walk to the local pub or down into Frodsham (not such an easy walk back uphill though).
Main criticism is that breakfast is pricey at nearly 7 quid for continental and over a tenner for cooked. However, the staff seem to assume that everyone is having a cooked breakfast so after a quick pit-stop on the way out one morning it was quite a shock to be billed over 40 quid for 4 bowls of cereal and 2 coffees. Hence, beware of cheap "room only" deals at this hotel as you can pay more for breakfast than accommodation.... Also worth noting that they sting you 2.5% extra if you pay by credit card on departure, which seems a bit penny-pinching when you consider that this is not a "budget" hotel overall.
BEST WESTERN Forest Hills Hotel
Great sized family room - not crammed in and kids had bed each.
Big plus when you have one of each. May sound daft but bathroom was again a good size with space to move around. Not really a negative but would suggest you take kids some dilute juice or hot choc for drink in the room. Plenty of tea and milk provided but take your own extra for kids. Reception staff were lovely and helpful - they talked to the kids and not at them.
BEST WESTERN Forest Hills Hotel
Lovely room , staff very nice & helpful.
The only downside was the breakfast wasn't included in room price & £10 a breakfast everyday for a family of 5 is very expensive. We decided to eat out in the restaurants in the surrounding area.
Great Family Stay
We stayed in a family Room which had 1 double and 2 single beds - Great room, all regular amenities, comfortable beds.
Use the leisure Centre in Morning after good buffet breakfast. staff very friendly, recommend this hotel
Excellent pool area.
Beautiful location. Great stay.
Very impressed with the room and service.
Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely relaxed stay.
All up it was an enjoyable stay, it is probably ready for a refurb but the size of the family room was great.
You will need a car as even if you intend travelling by any form of public transport.
