New year stay
We booked this room to visit relatives for new year,upon arrival we were told the restaurant will be closed until 4th Jan but still have bar snacks.
Had we been informed prior to our stay ( which we should have ) that this was the case then we would have looked for alternative hotels. We had to go out every night to eat, which we did not want to do especially at this time of year. I would have expected compensation of some sort!.this was not at all suitable. They might say they upgraded us but we booked and paid for a delux room anyway, most disappointing

Customer service was very good by the reception staff.
However we booked for afternoon tea and was made to wait 20 minutes before being seated which was disappointing. They did charge us less for the afternoon tea which I think was fair. Breakfast was beautiful and very prompt, however the restaurant was closed in the evening so we couldn't have dinner here. We had booked this hotel specifically for the restaurant in the evening as we had no transport and were not told that the restaurant was closed for refurbishment until a day before our stay, so the hotel agreed to pay for taxis into Windsor for us. However I get severe travel sickness, so had to take anti sickness tablets which resulted in drowsiness - not how I wanted to spend my evenings. The view from the room was beautiful, however the bath was full of hair, as was the plug and the bath had quite a bit of rust which the hotel had just covered in a white filler. The bedside table was very dusty and although we stayed in a deluxe room, we were situated on the ground floor and unfortunately the walls were very thin which meant it was very noisy early in the morning as we could hear the staff. Very disappointing for the amount of money we paid.
Comfy and clean
The hotel was clean and comfy.
The staff were very friendly. Would stay again.
Everything was good except breakfast.
It was very disorganised, some hot food containers were empty leaving very little choice, I had 2 rashers of bacon and a spoonful of scrambled egg. Despite requests for tea and coffee these were not brought.

The Grovefield was a fantastic stay.
Great customer services during entire stay by all staff. The room was very clean and the food (breakfast) was amazing.
Note: The hotel was very warm.
