Metro Inn Newcastle
Everything you need for a great price.
Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a lovely lady on the front desk who turned out to be the manager of the hotel.
She was very polite & helpful with everything we needed to know. Our room was a good size with basic things that you need a sink with cups for a drink through the night, a tv with free view & a double bed with a single bunk bed above it. The bedding was all clean & comfortable to sleep in towels were also provided. There was a coffee machine in reception with vending machines for that craving through the night. The toilet was small but easy enough to move around in & there was a disabled one opposite. The shower was in a room next to the toilet it was very powerful but I had been told this before hand so it wasn't a big shock which it could have been if she hadn't told me lol. It has to be pushed in to turn it on then you can control the temperature by turning it I will warn it doesn't stay on long a bit like the showers you'd find in your local pool otherwise it was ok it helped take the knots out my back. There is a Toby Carvery next door to the hotel which was very nice but the hotel does have a guest kitchen where you can make your own food. There is a 24/7 Tesco within walking distance of the hotel plus a McDonald's. The hotel has a taxi number which charges fair rates. All in all definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in around Newcastle. Definitely going to be staying again.
Decent cheap place to stay had a crack with the staff .
Will be staying sometime again.
Good Basic Accommodation
Superb value but very basic.
But that suited us fine. Shared toilets and showers but this made for a fun stay as a couple. Clean, comfortable and just off the A1 outside of Newcastle. Staff superb especially John on the Sunday late shift. £23. You can't go wrong.
Get exactly what you pay for..
I stayed with one friend for two nights, so it was £20 each per night.
And the room reflects that price. The stairs to get to the top bunk weren't screwed into the wall properly, it looked like it hadn't been hoovered properly in a long time; nice boarder of dust all around the room. Window was broken and wouldn't close properly so the room was freezing cold and you can hear the traffic outside as if he window was actually open.
Cheap and friendly place
A bit tired looking rooms, but clean and comfortable bed, slept well.
Very friendly staff.
good for £20
it was a nice place and i can not complain for only £20 the staff member was polite and friendly and i enjoyed my stay
I would come back
Wouldn't say it's the smartest hotel by far but there are no complaints here.
First time in Newcastle, service was prompt, met great people in there, the atmosphere was good and we had no trouble.
The room is basic but for the price you pay it is not bad, had a great weekend in newcatle and the hotel and staff where fine.
would most certainly go back
