The Avon Causeway Hotel
A very pleasant stay.
The Avon Causeway Hotel
Good value, great food, adequate room
The setting is really lovely although you'll need to drive to access it I think.
Food and service in the pub / restaurant downstairs was very good. The room was clean throughout. The quality of the room was as expected for this type of accommodation - little bit of wallpaper peeling, basic bathroom. Clearly recently decorated. I would definitely stay here again.
Great location for what we needed, clean rooms good facilities.
However I found some of the staff a little tired and not fussed, this could be due to New Years and Christmas. However I would stay again for the convenience. Food good. Bar expensive £1.20 for a packet of crisps.
railway nostalgia experience
It was lovely to see that a little bit of the destroyed past railways was preserved for people to appreciate, the hotel is well kept and the staff are exceptionally helpful, the room was quite large, although the fixed TV set could have been bigger as it was very small and difficult to see from the bed, also the pillows were not very soft, and seemed to turn into breeze blocks in the middle of the night, that being the rest of the hotel and where it was situated was excelent I would stay here again, the food in the restaurant was superb.
Superb food, great service and lovely restaurant
I simply cannot recommend this place enough to people.
It's located in the New Forest and it's a lovely and beautiful pub/B&B.
Often I am working in Christchurch and I always stay here because of the great food, warm rooms, great showers and amazing beds. Always a good night sleep.
Good base for the area once you can find it.
Sat Nav takes you to the main road and the pub is just outside the village alongside the main road. Excellent value for food and accommodation.
Nice Place shame about the shower!
This is an attractive place to stay with a the Railway connection making it slightly different from the norm.
The rooms are in need of refurbishment which was confirmed as planned for early 2016 by a member of staff. I would hope that they provide sufficient water pressure in the showers during this refurb as they currently are not useable.
A good place to stay
We spent 2 nights here and would recommend it for great food, pleasant , helpful staff and an interesting and unusual place to stay.If you are a railway enthusiast you will love all the old railway paraphernalia.
There are parts that require some tlc but felt the price and convenience of this hotel outweighed the small faults. Would definitely stay here again. My Husband has breathing and walking problems and I didn't realize until it was too late to change that there are 20 stairs and no lift or porter . The stairs are wide with a landing halfway and the banisters are sturdy. He did manage ok but just be aware of this when thinking of booking.
Hotel with a train
The hotel is set in lovely setting with train converted into a restaurant alongside.
There is plenty of outside seating back and front to enjoy sunny days. The room was ample and well equiped. Staff were friendly and very quick to help.
Overall a great hotel and excellent service at amazing prices.
