The Arrochar Hotel - a Bespoke Hotel
This hotel is very tired and needs renovating.
The public area was good but the room needs renovating. The food was OK, but, overpriced.
Not what we expected, grimy, tired and disappointing
The Arrochar Hotel appears to be a hotel largely used by bikers, people up from Glasgow, large families, older people.
The bar area is the first thing you see. Reception is to the side and the first thing they ask for is payment up front before you see your room or experience the food or facilities. They hotel is tired, grimy although the largely foreign and East European temporary staff are doing their best in the circumstances. I personally could not eat the food as it was very much over boiled, in butter, bought in cheesecake etc. we had their best room 112 but still the remote control was grimy, third of a loo roll from previous occupants. Scottish Tourist Board only gives it 2 stars and that is a true reflection, it was a disappointing end to our holiday and we would not recommend it to others
