Stayed here after a wedding and it was great.
The location is good as its close to the A27 but on the A259 so its quieter. I was arrived before check in and coming back late and the staff were very helpful and gave me key and put my bag in my room so I could go straight there when I came back. The room was a really good size and very clean and, the variety of tea & coffee in the room was an extra perk. The only downside was the hairdryer, it was very outdated and was as much use as a mouse breathing on you. So overall great - just bring your own hairdryer .
A superior pub/hotel!
We stayed for just one night but found the hotel very convenient - right by the station and within walking distance of the town centre - but with a view of a field of cattle from our window.
The service was friendly and helpful and I was impressed by the fact that all members of staff were able to answer our questions. No-one said "I'll just ask the manager" - they knew the systems. Our room was on a busy main road, which some people might find off-putting, and we could hear music from the the bar below - but all noise stopped at about 11.45 and we both got a very good night's sleep. We were very impressed by the range and the quality of the evening meal and the full Somerset breakfast was excellent.
