Good Value.

Welcoming staff.

On site parking near the rooms. OK bar/restaurant. Freshly cooked dinner and breakfast. Decent value. Personal dislike the very soft mattress. Some may like them I prefer a firm one. The stay was good value. I do feel that the site could do with some TLC. Perhaps the bean counters could consider a redecorate even if it means an increase in prices. Would I/we use this hotel again should the need arise. Possibly with a better mattress. Prefer not to sleep on the floor. Positive points I requested a "quiet" room and got one. Despite being near a main road it was reasonably peaceful.

In desperate need of update

On the plus side: Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, good car parking, excellent location, beds were clean and comfortable, lots of mirrors.

On the minus side: food was basic, room was basic and very very dated, only 1 chair, 2 large towels, no sockets for charging phone etc, green mould on inside of window frame, no cups/glasses in bathroom, poor quality loo roll, rubbish hair dryer, extractor fan not working, lighting poor, piece of door framework missing. restaurant was more like a canteen, continental breakfast was ok with not everything available as advertised in the menu, no bread rolls apart from sliced for toasting, only croissant available, variety of danish were, I think, on menu, in the cool cabinet lots of indents in the ice where items had been removed so we were obviously too late and they hadn't been bothered to replace these items, mmm wonder what they were. Patio slabs outside the restaurant were green with mould. Not an exciting experience at all would definitely not recommend if you enjoy the finer things in life. Overall a very basic hotel in need of an immediate full overhaul. I understand the chain has been bought by a Japanese company so improvements may be on the way, bet the staff are crossing their fingers.
