Another great stay at Kilkerran Hotel, thanks ladies.
I travelled for work and booked a room with the Kilkerran Guest house for 5 days and I left after 1 night's stay.
Being woken up by loud music at 07:30am on a bed that was so uncomfortable that I didn't sleep well anyway wasn't an ideal start to the day. I was at the back of the building and the noise from the traffic out front was still pretty loud too. The continental breakfast was not bad but it was essentially a croissant, a banana and coffee with no real other choices. Kilkerran is advertised as having free wifi in the lobby, but the router is placed in the adjacent building where it isn't even possible to connect to it. So when you get to the dining room where the wifi is enabled it still doesn't work as the signal is so weak. For work purposes this was a real game changer as I couldn't send a single email. The toilet door doesn't have a lock on it so you have a real lack of privacy trying to hold the door shut. The shower room extractor fan needs cleaned out asap, some amount of dust is gathered in it. Looks like it has never been cleaned and also the amount of cobwebs up high is unreal. Also the window in the shower room appears to be unable to be closed due to the handle being broken off. Overall I felt very unwelcome in a tired and sadly decorated house. With a vibe closer to a hostel than a guest house with the owners and people having loud conversations right outside my door I'm glad I left when I did. Would not recommend. I would REALLY like a refund on this waste of money and time. If I could have the time back also that would be grand but we can't always get what we want.
